Choosing and tuning the right car for the right race mode is critical to complete the game. Each car can have a maximum of three blueprints associated with it, with each blueprint representing a different customization. Cars and aftermarket parts are grouped into four tiers that represent performance levels, which are gradually unlocked as the player progresses through the game. Body modifications such as spoilers and hoods affect the car's aerodynamics and can be sculpted accordingly. Each car can be highly customized, including its performance, handling, and appearance. ProStreet features a large number of cars, ranging from affordable tuner-friendly sedans to exotic cars. Most races take place in real-world locations such as Texas World Speedway, Portland International Raceway, Mondello Park, and Autopolis. The win condition of Speed races depends on two variants, which include crossing the finish line in the first position or reaching the highest speed at designated checkpoints. Drift races require the player to score points by drifting around bends, while Speed races involve the player maintaining very high speeds on a relatively straight point-to-point course. Drag races always start out with a mini-game where the player can gain a good starting grip by heating up car tires while in braked position. Some also require the player to perform long wheelies. In Drag, the player must be the first to cross a finish line on a short and straight course, changing gears manually. These include crossing the finish line in the first position or ahead of a class of drivers based on their car performance, recording the best lap time, and recording the best sector times, with each sector representing a section of the circuit. Grip races involve the player racing around a circuit over several laps, where the win condition depends on four variations. The game features four race modes: Grip, Drag, Drift, and Speed. By individually beating every King, Cooper will be crowned the Street King. The overall objective of the game is to ultimately confront a number of elite drivers called Kings. Points allow the player to unlock more challenging events and progress through the game, while cash can be used to purchase or upgrade cars. Each event comprises a number of races where the player must compete against computer-controlled opponents to earn points and cash. The player assumes the role of Ryan Cooper, a former street racer who enters a series of showdown events run by several racing organizations. Although it is an arcade racing game, cars handle in a more realistic way than in previous Need for Speed games. Gameplay The player controlling a modified Nissan Silvia, drifts through a curve in Autopolis. ![]() These differ greatly from their console and PC counterparts, offering simpler gameplay mechanics and a reduced amount of features. Portable adaptations for mobile phones, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable were released to varying success. Although ProStreet sold more than five million units worldwide, it did not meet sales expectations according to Electronic Arts. The game's numerous online features and car customization options were highlighted as some of its strongest features. ProStreet received mixed reviews from critics, who generally criticized the lack of open world gameplay of its predecessors. Several downloadable content packs were released for the game, expanding its content with more cars, tracks, and races. Musician Junkie XL was hired to compose the score of the game. The game features a new physics engine, which allows cars to handle in a more realistic way and take damage in accidents, and introduced a wind tunnel feature where players can see how their car's aerodynamics work. It is the first Need for Speed game that was primarily developed for high-definition consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, although versions for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, and Wii were also released. Most races take place in real-world locations such as the Portland International Raceway, Mondello Park, and Autopolis.ĭeveloped over the course of almost two years, ProStreet was conceived by the same team who led the production of Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The game blends elements of both sim and arcade racing games, requiring players to customize and tune cars for various race modes. Unlike its immediate predecessors, which focused on the contemporary illegal street racing scene, ProStreet focuses on legal circuit races that take place on closed tracks. It is the eleventh installment in the Need for Speed series and a follow-up to Need for Speed: Carbon. ![]() Need for Speed: ProStreet is a 2007 racing video game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts.

Even if you forget to un-share something, it expires automatically and the recipient's access is removed.īitdefender Password Manager is a bargain for those looking for a password manager from a well-trusted company at just $20 for the first year ($30 upon renewal). This feature lets users share links that can only be used on one device and automatically expire at a time of your choosing. To make it easier to securely share confidential information with friends, family and co-workers, Keeper has added One-Time Share to its password manager. It also offers a free secure messaging service. It offers a consistent, if not flashy, user interface no matter which platform you're using, and 20 templates to fill in personal documents such as passports and driver's licenses. Keeper's free tier gives you everything except syncing across devices.įor an extra $25 per year, Keeper will also monitor the internet for unauthorized use of your personal data and give you 10GB of secure cloud storage, or you can add those services individually for $20 and $10 per year, respectively. Keeper ( $20.98 per year for Tom's Guide readers) is fast and full-featured, stores files and documents of any kind and has perhaps the best security of any password manager. By itself, the VPN costs $96 yearly, so it's a huge bargain when bundled with Dashlane. That makes Dashlane Premium's $60 price tag well worth it if you need these extra services. On the upside, the Dashlane Premium plan offers dark-web monitoring and unlimited VPN service, the latter courtesy of Hotspot Shield. Dashlane's free plan is limited to one device but it does let you store an unlimited number of passwords. Its Premium plan is $60 per year, or $78 per year if you pay monthly. A scanner also goes through your email inbox to find online accounts you may have forgotten about.ĭashlane's drawback is its high price. The password manager is well designed, easy to use and excellent at filling out your personal information in online forms. Its killer feature remains a bulk password changer that can reset hundreds of passwords at once. Dashlane matches LastPass, 1Password and Keeper in platform support and has very intuitive desktop software. ![]() Perfect for private races and we are going to have fun on Complete Xbox Community nights with this game for sure.Īs with all free-to-play games, they have to drive some revenue in some way and that is usually through paid battle pass systems and paid-for cosmetics. This is certainly where the hardcore of the KartRider Drift community will eventually gather. Each challenge has a star rating which will unlock cosmetics and go towards earning that particular driving license. It may be collecting coins on a track as fast as possible or threading through tight barriers that appear suddenly in front of you. Each licence has several challenges to work through which aren’t easy but are enjoyable to try and master. It is very similar here with several licences to work through. Licenses reminded me of the fun I used to have with Gran Turismo and obtaining specific licence classes to slot into relevant events. Each race can be played as every person for themselves, as a duo with four teams of 2 or as a squad with 2 teams of 4 for those times with mates. Speed races are straightforward with the focus on accumulating nitro speed boosts and drifting around corners to keep that high adrenaline pace going in an attempt to come out on top. Two power-ups can be stored at one time, so be sure to use them to your advantage as soon as you can. The main two modes are item races which will have power-ups such as banana skins, rockets, speed boosts and other quirky projectiles which can be deployed whenever and however you see fit. There is a tutorial, to begin with, which is short and sweet, it will guide you in the basics of acceleration, drifting and using item boxes along with how to use power-ups. Getting used to the control layout is super simple even for the most casual amongst us and my five-year-old son loves racing against AI bots. There are several race types to divulge in along with some other good stuff and I was impressed with the amount of stuff to do in this first season. As someone who is obsessed with multiplayer titles over campaign-based games, I was immediately all over the PVP element of the game. There is an absolute feast of content in KartRider Drift and the beauty of the game is that you can choose to play against AI or competitively online. The point is though, it encourages you to drive your karting career whether you’re on one console or the other, on the toilet on your phone or at your desk if you’re PC master race. I was able to pick up exactly where I left off from the console version from the comfort of my sofa which is a massive plus if you want to continue progression if your other half is watching her favourite soap or your kid is smearing their grubby mitts across your pride and joy while watching Peppa Pig. I know this works well as I managed a six-hour session in my first sitting and then downloaded and tested the game using my Oppo mobile phone. Cross-play and cross-progression are featured flawlessly between the Xbox family of consoles, PlayStation 4 and 5 along with Windows PC and mobile device users. KartRider Drift is a kart racer that caters for up to 8 players online or you can go alone against AI opponents. Fear not though, KartRider Drift has landed suddenly on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4|5, Windows PC and also iOS/Android. It’s no secret that Mario Kart is the daddy of the catalogue, but is locked to Nintendo. Beyond unlocking everything, they became quite stale very quickly despite being exceptional in their mechanics and gameplay. What I found with those two games though was the competitive edge died off as there wasn’t much in the way of deep stat tracking or ranked modes. Sure, we have had some decent stuff across the years such as Crash Team Racing and even Team Sonic Racing. This allows you to save different versions of dialogue and cycle between them as you choose your favorite. For the most part, writing and formatting can be done almost exclusively with the keyboard, greatly speeding up the writing process compared to a standard word processor.Īlso new to version 10 is the Alternate Dialogue tool. You can cycle through all possible script elements using tab - a handy shortcut - or select the appropriate element from the menu in the toolbar ribbon at the top of the screen. Final Draft will also put the line in all caps - the script formatting standard for scene headings. abbreviation that tells us the scene will take place outside. If you type an E at the top of the page, Final Draft knows this is likely to be a scene heading using the standard EXT. Like in previous versions, Final Draft 10 uses predictive Smart Type to anticipate which element you’ll need next. The Story Map comes in handy here, too, since you can drag cards into the Story Map to create Structure Points, or page goals for each beat, then hover over those Structure Points to view the attached card while you’re writing, even when not in Split view. The Split view option was also nice for referencing the Beat Board while writing the script. ![]() We liked being able to freely move and resize cards, and the color coding option made it easy to quickly find the information we needed to continue writing. Like in the default page view, the Story Map bar lines the top of the screen to give you an overview of your script. The Beat Board view starts as a blank grid. The Beat Board is designed to be a flexible brainstorming space where you can create moveable cards to store notes about the different story elements. We opened Final Draft with a kernel of an idea for our screenplay, but it definitely needed development, so we navigated to the Beat Board, a brand new feature in Final Draft 10. Final Draft 10 even includes studio-specific templates if you know you need to follow a particular studio’s standard. We kept our document in the default screenplay template, but there are dozens of templates available, including ones for graphic novels, manuscripts and query letters in addition to a selection of scripts for film, stage and TV. The Story Map bar at the top of your page is set to a 120-page target by default, but since we wanted to write a script for a five minute short film, we adjusted that target down to five pages. There are plenty of options for customizing the workspace as needed. ![]() When you open up Final Draft 10, you’re greeted with the main program window with a toolbar at the top and two sub-windows: the main story editor where you’ll add your text and the Navigator window where you can jump between scenes, find and add script notes and keep track of characters. In addition to formatting, Final Draft also offers robust organizational tools, script breakdowns and production reports to help with pre-production tasks beyond the actual writing of the script. ![]() If after uploading your files you still want to do more conversions, that’s OK! When finished, you can download each of them one-by-one by clicking the “DOWNLOAD” button under each image. Once uploaded, you’ll see our tool convert the files in real time. Hit the “UPLOAD FILES” button and find your JPG file(s) to get started. How to convert PNG files to JPG for free?įirst, you’ll need to upload a JPG file into our tool above. We’d advise keeping the original JPG if you think you might want to print it in the future. Since PNG files don’t contain CMYK information, printing them is tricky. However, you should beware of converting JPG to PNG if you want to eventually print the image. This can be helpful if you have a very special or specific image that you want to be preserved. So if you’re uploading a PNG to a service that compresses images, your PNG upload will look the same as it does on your computer. JPGs must have color information within every pixel, so empty pixels are usually filled with black or white colors. If you have an image with a lot of white space that you’d like to remove in editing software, you won’t be able to do it. The biggest reason to convert JPG files to PNG is to create transparency support. PNGs, unfortunately, do not support CMYK color spaces, though, which makes them not as effective for printing. Transparency allows for specific pixels in the image to be empty, which can be useful when placing one image on top of another. PNGs also support transparency, which JPGs do not. ![]() Meanwhile, PNGs are lossless, which means they are not compressed. Generally, the higher the quality of the image, the bigger its filesize, so compressing an image can help make it take up less space on your hard drive. When you create a JPG, you can choose how lossy it gets. This means that image compression has removed some of its overall quality. With a JPG, you have a file with lossy quality. However, JPGs (or sometimes JPEGs) are different from PNGs. They contain visual information, usually photographs, drawings, screenshots, or other types of media. ![]() In most cases, when doing a scan, it usually only catches 1 or none of any spyware programs. However, I need to inquire about Glary's spyware detector. I'm a fan of software programs that don't run a lot of processes and apps (this usually taxes the PC's speed, etc). What one software application will not detect, another one usually will. It never hurts to run more than 1 utility program, whether it's for registry, spyware, malware, and junk files. Although, it's only advisable to run one anti-virus program. This is an above average general utility program. Research and patience will keep your computer running longer, better, with a lot less grief. Be careful of promises that seem, "to good to be true", they generally are. You can scan your registry without changes, backup existing registry before any cleaning (if you screw-up - UNDO the clean), and for some reasons I'm unaware of, makes better decisions about your registry than most other progs. Mostly the feedback will be usable and safe. There are more web sites you can turn to but the process is not a quick one. They have a long history of good advice and fixes that have been around a while, work, and don't break anything. is a well known resource with techs and smart computer people. I turn to the web sites I can trust for feedback. Trouble is they're not always handy and generally cost a good deal to hire. So what is safe? Ask lot of good questions of smart computer people. Files And Folders, "corrects the errors in your start menu and desktop shortcuts". ![]() But the same dynamic of RISK applies to all the other 'jobs' the utility is ready to do for you. ![]() So riddle me this: how safe/smart is it to give a trusting, but unfamiliar user, a terribly invasive program designed to DELETE "unnecessary" registry entries? The stories I could tell (including my own DISASTER tales of registry fixers). The only fix then is a reinstall of your OS. If you jiggle the registry the wrong way, and change, or remove, key registry commands, you could truly cripple your system, or lose it. It controls the main settings for what your computer is instructed to do, and how. The registry is rather like your computer's 'central filing cabinet' or 'brain' if you will. Many savvy techs will advise you to leave your computer's registry, ALONE. The problem I have with Glary, and most all others of its kind, is (A.) the efficacy of all these "fixers", and (B.) putting tools, so very invasive, in the hands of those who really don't have much experience. There is a "Lite" or free version (which is perhaps missing some key attractions), and of course for a charge the "Pro" or full version. Each of these "fixes" has several more sub-options and "fixes". Glary Utilities is a software 'utility', bundling perhaps ten, or more, individual 'fix-it's' to improve your computer's performance - make it run like new! It will "Optimize And Improve", fix your "Privacy And Security", attend to your "Files And Folders", get your "System Tools" in order, and finally "Clean Up And Repair". This review focuses on Glary Utilities, but is, in fact, my opinion of all "Fix-It-All" programs available. Let me start by framing the point that my "opinions" are based on my experiences, thoughts/ideas shared by friends, and a good deal of research. Unless you're really into computer maintenance and Fix-It programs, you might want to sit this review out. This is a long one, sorry, but one I've been meaning to vent about this for some time. ![]() Make note of the name of this PC under How to connect to this PC.
